Sharnee Wallace – Mother
Gregory Barnett
Born 1/16/1990 – Died 3/18/2017
Sharnee Wallace has five children and lives in Riviera Beach.
“Gregory was the second oldest child and lived in Mariana, Florida when he was shot and killed. When this happened I was at church serving another family who lost a son to gun violence. I had put my phone on top of the refrigerator and there were 27 messages on it. Somebody to told the pastor and he told Miss Tracey who told me my son had just been killed. She took me outside. I screamed and was held from falling down and I cried uncontrollably that afternoon at Grace Temple. My aunt came outside and we cried together.”
“Gregory was working at Popeye Chicken and his friend Michael drove him home. Michael had said something to a young man on Face Book. When Michael picked up Gregory to go play video games they were stopped by a man in the street. He pulled out a gun and shot Gregory. The shooter turned him self in and this case is going to trial. The problem is witnesses can’t be found and Michael refuses to be a witness. “
“Our son Terez has his days and will not go into Gregory’s room. My nephew who has a birthday two days before my son’s birthday stood by the body until the coroner came.”
“I’m ‘doin’, I’m ‘doin’. I have my days. I have my grandson Shawn Barnett who is 3 years old and he looks just like his father. He is with me now and I took in the mother since she had no other place to stay. The baby has been back and forth and the mother will not give me custody.”
